The trail crew had come in on the first sunny day in a while and enjoyed a lack of rain. It wasn't planned that way, they were just lucky. Now the weather was turning back to rain. We were headed out. They would head out, too.

48: hikers and creek behind some thin brush
On the trail again.

49: furry mariposa lily
The Tolmie's pussy ears had opened up.

I got hit with three whole raindrops early on, but nothing more came of the heavy clouds. I focused on getting a few of the neglected flowers on the way out.

50: dangling flowers and spiked fruit
Sierra gooseberry in all levels of flower and fruiting out.

51: mountain past madrones
Some graceful madrones at a spot other madrones had fallen on the trail and needed clearing. Maybe Medicine Mountain back there got a touch more snow.

53: yellow trumpets
California stoneseed.

54: balls of red
Not quite figuring out how to photograph the balls of red that are purple sanicle.

55: water into water
Wooley Creek empties itself into the Salmon River far below.

57: bright yellow flowers
Even some native buttercups.

58: gravel bars in a river
The Salmon River twists its way the last couple miles to the Klamath River.

And so we finished, leaving the rain to reassert itself after a couple sunny days.

As of this writing, the trail is clear all the way to the cabin again.
